Macarthur Palm
An attractive multi trunked palm that reminds me of Asia or tropical island getaways. This is a beauty for the tropical garden as it does not become an enormous tree as it matures, the beautiful leafy foliage is a good height to provide a garden backdrop for other tropicals or to hide neighbouring houses etc.
DESCRIPTION: Medium growing clumping palm with ruffled leaves. Native to Northern Queensland. Will grow larger and more vigorously in bright light, shorter in shade.
USE IN: Tropical garden settings and poolside for screening and feature planting. Suited to containers and indoor gardens in cooler climates.
PLANTING: Plant in a shaded or full sun position in the garden in well drained soil. Mulch and water regularly until the plant is established, usually around 12 weeks.
CARE: Protect from frost and keep moist during dry periods. Apply a slow release fertiliser during spring and liquid fertiliser regularly during the warmer months. Re-pot every 2 - 3 years to keep soil fresh and full of nutrients.
HEIGHT & WIDTH: 6-8m H x 2-2.5m W.
300mm pot - $65
