Heliconias
A tropical garden is an eden of vibrant colour and exotic scents, shapes and textures, but it is only complete with the inclusion of colourful Heliconias.
As cut flowers in an arrangement Heliconia are unrivaled for their beauty, color and tropical appearance making them extremely popular for hotel arrangements.
The different Heliconia species range in size from half a metre for Psittacorum to six metres tall for the exotic Bihai species. They thrive in the alternating blend of tropical/sub tropical sun and rain and will perform best in a rich, well-drained, fertilised soil. They are easy to grow in these conditions.
